Chocolate Pudding Cake

This chocolate pudding cake is the perfect combination of fudgey chocolate cake and gooey pudding! Serve it warm out of the oven with a heaping scoop or two of vanilla ice cream.

INGREDIENTS: (Serves 4-6)

Cake

1 cup all-purpose flour 1⁄2 cup white granulated sugar 1⁄4 cup cocoa powder

2 tsp baking powder 1⁄4 tsp salt

3⁄4 cup milk 1⁄4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Sauce

1⁄2 cup white granulated sugar 1⁄2 cup packed light brown sugar

3 Tbsp cocoa powder

1-1⁄4 cups boiling water

DIRECTIONS: There are two layers to this cake.

Cake Layer

Preheat oven to 350 ̊F. In a medium-size bowl, add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter and vanilla extract until combined. Add to a buttered and floured 9-inch square or round pan.

Sauce Layer

In another bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar and cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture over the cake batter in an even layer. Carefully pour the boiling water over the top, being careful not to disturb the layers underneath. Do not mix the layers!

Bake for 30-35 minutes. The middle of the cake will still jiggle when removed. Wait 15 minutes before serving, but the cake is best served out of the oven on the day you bake it. OH
